Welcome back to Term 2!
We're excited to begin a short but action-packed 9 week term. There’s a lot to look forward to including Show Quest, the Junior Gymnastics competitions, Hutt Fest, and our parent teacher meetings in the final two weeks of the term.

Anzac Day
Taylor Ross and Patrick Janes proudly represented EHS at the Civic Service on ANZAC Day, laying a wreath at the Cenotaph to honour those who have served and those who serve. They did a great job, showing respect on behalf of our school community. It was a special service to be part of on such a beautiful Wellington day.

Zones of Regulation
This term, we will continue our school-wide focus on the Zones of Regulation, which you may already be familiar with through conversations with your child.
This term, we will continue our school-wide focus on the Zones of Regulation, which you may already be familiar with through conversations with your child.
The Zones of Regulation help tamariki recognise their emotions and gives them tools to manage when they’re feeling dysregulated or out of balance. We are already seeing a positive impact from this programme, with many tamariki using the 'Zones' language to describe their feelings.
We encourage you to talk with your child at home about the Zones of Regulation. A shared language between home and school can make a real difference. Be sure to check out the display by the office that explains the Zones in more detail.

Art Work
We’re always so proud of the artwork created by our tamariki, which is displayed in classrooms and along our corridors.
A big thank you to our release teachers Chelsey Egan, Sheryl Hudson and Greta Purcell, for keeping our corridors beautifully lined with visual art. We’re grateful for the creativity and care they bring to showcasing our students’ work.

Mathsathon
This term, our Home and School are running the EHS Mathsathon - one of our major fundraisers for the year. Not only does it help raise funds for our school, but it also gives our tamariki a great goal to work towards as they practise and improve their basic facts. Your support, through sponsorship and helping your child with their basic facts at home, is really appreciated and makes a big difference. A big shout out to our amazing Home and School team for organising this event!
