Message from the Principal
What a wonderful and colourful week last week with our first Whānau Spirit Day on Friday and the announcement of our Kaiārahi Leaders.
Our Kaiārahi Leaders are important to our school and help guide the way. ‘Ārahi’means to lead or direct. A kaiārahi is someone who creates pathways for people. Kaiārahi Leaders are guiders and enablers.
At Eastern Hutt, our Whānau Leaders will guide and celebrate our school from a tamariki perspective. They are the tamariki who seek out opportunities to bring their diverse peers together to shine.
Our Sports Leaders are passionate about sports and help other students to take part in and enjoy physical activities. They encourage fair play and value team spirit above all. They set up lunchtime games and represent Eastern Hutt with pride at many sporting events.
Our Arts and Culture Leaders are creative, encouraging, organised and have a love for the Arts. They help our Kaiako Arts Leader with shows and being Ambassadors for visiting performers.
Congratulations to our Kaiārahi Leaders for 2025!
The many other leadership roles include: Kapa Haka Leaders, First Language Leaders, PALs - Playground Assistant Leaders, Road Patrollers, Librarians, Buddy Readers, Wet Day Buddies, Digi Kids and Enviro Leaders.
