Enrolment Information

Early enrolment to school assists the school to be best prepared for a student's arrival at school.
Below are a collection of documents related to enroling your child at our school.

Cohort Entry will be implemented at Eastern Hutt School from 1st February 2023.
The Eastern Hutt School BOT has endorsed this policy for school entry for 5 year olds.
It will now be school policy that the earliest children can start school will be the first day of term, or the midpoint of the term, after their 5th birthday.

Cohort Entry at Eastern Hutt School:-
  • There would be 2 starting school entry points in each school term - Week 1 and approximately Week 6.
  • If a child turns five during Week 2 of the term, they will start school at approximately Week 6.
  • A child who turns five during Week 7 to 10 of each term, would start in Week 1 of the following term.
  • Children must be 5 years old to begin school. (Legally they don’t have to be at school until they turn 6)
  • School visits would be streamlined to work with cohort entry points.
  • In total, there would be 8 intakes each year, in line with the Ministry of Education Cohort Entry Policy.
