Assessment & Reporting
The school community places considerable value on education and the school strives for very high levels of academic achievement. Every year a significant number of pupils achieve results well above national averages in international exams and nationally-normed tests.
We have comprehensive systems of monitoring children’s progress through regular assessment of individual performance. Registers are kept of students with special education needs and students who are gifted and talented. This information is used to ensure the learning is appropriately challenging and that learning support and extension programmes are put in place as required.
We are committed to inclusive practices that ensure all students have the opportunity to be life-long learners
A range of assessment tools are used, along with teacher observation, learning conversations, book work, and learning tasks to make Overall Teacher Judgements (OTJs) in relation to the New Zealand Curriculum. Students are grouped according to learning needs in Numeracy and Literacy.
A report is sent home 6 weeks after your new entrant child has started school.
A Mid-Year Report is sent home at the end of Term 2 before the 3-way Conferences which take place in the first two weeks of Term 3, and an Achievement Report is sent home at the end of Term 4.
Parents are welcome to contact their class teacher in-between these times if they have a query or concern about their child.
